The numbers can be overwhelming: 4.6 million of Ethiopian children are missing one or both parents; 800,000 of whom were orphaned by HIV/AIDS.
Our partner, Faya Orphanage, doesn’t see the numbers. Every child is an individual. And every child has individual needs.
Through the House 2 House program, they connect with children in the Adama, Wonji, Ambo and Gunder communities, through word-of-mouth, and referrals from local government offices. Some children need to visit a doctor, or receive anti-retrovirals. Some children are under-nourished and need more food to grow. Some children need a safe place to stay while their parent or guardian works; others need subsidizing to attend school.
The House 2 House program works because it continually assesses the child’s needs and provides what is most essential to the child and their family. With your sponsorship support, each child is given a chance to survive, and to thrive.

As a sponsor, you will receive news and/or pictures of your sponsored child, twice a year. You will get to know them and watch them grow. You become a member of the Vulnerable Children Society for the duration of your sponsorship, and receive bi-annual newsletters with updates from our partner organization, Faya Orphanage.
NOTE: $2 of each monthly sponsorships payment, in addition to our membership revenues, cover Vulnerable Children Society administrative costs (such as sending money to Ethiopia.) We are 100% volunteer-run.
