David Thompson Secondary School in Invermere, BC, contributed an astounding $1000 to Vulnerable Children Society today.
“I’m truly amazed at the generous contribution from the Invemere students,” stated Vulnerable children society president Arnica Rowan. “They contacted us earlier in the fall to ask if we would like to be a recipient of their fundraising efforts. Obviously these leadership students are a force to be reckoned with! Their efforts to help vulnerable children in Ethiopia just blew me away.”
Fund-raising for this endeavor included selling fair trade coffee from local Kicking Horse Coffee company and hosting “Spookapalooza” – a circus-themed Halloween fair- at the high school for local elementary children and their parents. Money was earned the old-fashioned way: apple-bobbing, face-painting, craft and haunted musical chairs were a few of the activities available.
