Did you know that 48% of rural Ethiopian girls marry before the age of 15? (Source.) This leads to all sorts of health and social problems, as these girls leave school and start families of their own.
Both these girls from Ambo, Ethiopia are at the age where House 2 House sponsorship can be a crucial turning point in their lives. with your help, they will receive proper medical treatment, go to school, and remain as children in their communities. Both of these girls were identified by the local government (the Ambo Woman’s Office) as high-risk and deserving of help.
Sponsorship enables them to have adequate food, shelter, access to education and medical care, especially since many of these kids’ families are affected by HIV/AIDS.
If you would like to sponsor one of these community children, please simply click on the “Sponsor a Community Child” graphic on the left. In the “Add Special Instructions” area, state the child’s ID number, and we will match you with this child. Thank you so much!
